Christmas Island
There are several "Christmas Islands" around the world. One, part of Micronesia, is now called Kiritimati (a transliteration of "Christmas" into Gilbertese). Another is located in the north Indian Ocean, south and west of Indonesia, and is currently an Australian territory. A third is part of the New Year group of islands near Tasmania.
